Little Free

Libraries

Our founder, Jan, wheels out some finished libraries painted for REAL by the talented young artists at RAW ART WORKS.

A Little Free Library is a free book exchange. They come in many shapes and sizes, but the most common version is a small wooden box of books. Anyone may take a book or bring a book to share. Little Free Library book exchanges have a unique, personal touch. There is an understanding that real people are sharing their favorite books with their community; little libraries have been called “mini-town squares.”

The REAL version of Little Free Libraries is one where people can take books and they do not have to return them. We do hope that they read them! People can return books or replace with other books but it is not a requirement. We simply want to help people get books and read!

The REAL (Reading and Educational Assistance for Learning) Program's mission is to improve literacy in Lynn, Massachusetts.
